Charlamagne Tha God Co-Hosting An Afterparty On Election Night


Recently, MTV announced that Charlamagne Tha God will help host The +1 The Vote Election After party at Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus.

Charlamagne Tha God is a household name in entertainment. He is one of the co-hosts of the hip-hop morning show, ‘The Breakfast Club,’ on iHeartRadio. In production, Charlamagne runs CThaGod World LLC and co-host of Brilliant Idiots a favorite podcast. He has directed and acted in movies like Bodied (2017), on the run eating (2018) and Grow House (2017) to mention but a few.

Charlamagne Tha God is a writer and has a book titled “Black Privilege” which ranked sixth in the New York Times of bestselling hardback nonfiction on May 7 2017. Some of the featured guests at the party include Ashanti, David Hogg, Jazz Jennings, and Sarah Chadwick. The after party will take place once the Florida voting polls close. The goal of the after party is to celebrate the efforts of young people striving to make a difference in their community through voting.

The voter turnout among young people for the upcoming election sounds encouraging based on the data compiled by MTV. More than 60% of young people not only plan to vote, but also plan on convincing their friends to go vote as well. MTV has been working with Tinder to help increase voter turnout around The United States. Tinder users have been receiving notifications encouraging them to vote and bring a friend on Election Day. +1 is also collaborating with Postmates to give people who bring someone else to the polls with them a food credit.
